How 2take collects and handles information about you.

1. Introduction

2take (the "Service") is a web service that compares options two at a time and turns the results into a ranking. This policy explains what information the Service collects and how it is handled.

This policy is published in Japanese and English only. It applies to you even if you use the Service in another language.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information — the name, email address, and profile image URL we receive from Google when you sign in with a Google account. We never receive your password.
  • Information you enter — topic names, the options you add, the choices you make when voting, and the nickname you enter when joining. Your choices are stored together with who made them, but they are never displayed.
  • Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store card numbers; we keep only the payment identifier, amount, and status.
  • Usage data — access timestamps, IP address, user agent, and cookies.

3. How we use it

  • Providing the Service (creating, displaying and sharing content)
  • Processing payments for the pass and tracking its expiry
  • Preventing abuse and enforcing usage limits
  • Handling reports and investigating violations of the Terms
  • Serving advertising (Section 6)

4. Content you make public

Anything you set to public can be viewed by anyone, including people who are not signed in.

If you want something removed or corrected, please contact the user who created it first. If you cannot reach them, or they do not respond, use the report form on the page or the contact address at the end of this policy.

5. (Service-specific handling)

If this service sends user information or content to an outside party (AI analysis, external storage), say what is sent, where, and why. If it does not, delete this section.

6. Advertising

The Service displays Google AdSense advertising on the public topic list and on viewing pages of topics that do not have an active pass.

Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads).

If you access the Service from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent to advertising and measurement cookies through a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP). If you decline, you will see non-personalized advertising instead. You can change your choice at any time.

If you access the Service from certain U.S. states, the same mechanism provides the choices required regarding the "sale" and "sharing" of personal information.

7. Sharing and processors

We do not share your information with third parties except as required by law. We do rely on the following processors to operate the Service:

  • Google LLC — sign-in, advertising, and consent management
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, database, and file storage
  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing

8. Retention

Topic data is retained until the owner deletes it. The public topic list has a listing period (30 days after a topic finishes, 90 days for those that have not), but this only removes it from the list — the data is not deleted and the URL keeps working.

9. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction on the use of the personal data we hold about you. Contact us at the address below.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR and UK GDPR additionally give you the right to data portability, to restrict processing, and to object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

10. Cookies

The Service uses cookies to keep you signed in. These are necessary for the Service to function; if you block them you will not be able to sign in.

We also use a cookie to remember the display language you select, so that it carries over to your next visit. It is written only when you switch languages and is not used to identify you.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated text and its revision date on this page.
